Need
For their new BMW / Mini aftersales service in Glasgow city centre, Park´s Motor Group required a workshop comprising 24 racking modules and large customer service installations. A state-of-the-art space with an aftersales service that was additionally the spare parts HQ for the franchise.
The project design had to respond to the following needs:
- Manage three daily stock deliveries.
- Store more than 1,000 spare part references, including wheel rim and tyre stocks.
The height of the building was used to build a mezzanine, thereby increasing the space available, without the need for civil works.

Solution
With extensive experience designing storage projects for the automotive sector, POLYPAL suggested installing a mezzanine and gaining an additional surface of 190m2 at height.
Construction of the mezzanine provided a storage area on the first floor for heavier items, such as wheel rims and tyres, for which 32 manual loading modules were installed with racking beams.
Of these 32 modules, 5 were covered with 18 mm chipboard for other types of heavy load uses.
On the ground floor, 63 manual load modules were installed with trays for small spares storage.
Like on the first floor, on the ground floor 32 additional manual load shelving modules were installed with beams for the storage of wheel rims and tyres, except for 5 modules which were covered with chipboard panels of 18 mm.
