POLYPAL mezzanine to increase Mayoral’s storage surface
Mayoral is a Spanish multinational textile company, specialised in the design, manufacture, distribution and sale of children’s fashion. Mayoral operates 150 own stores and has a commercial presence in 75 countries, 8,000 sales outlets and 16 subsidiaries.
Need
At its headquarters in Málaga, Mayoral wished to increase the storage surface in the order classification zone of its clothing warehouse.
Solution
POLYPAL’s technical equipment designed a mezzanine to fulfill the client’s overall needs:
- Mezzanine floor on one level withstanding up to 400 kg/m2 uniformly distributed.
- Mezzanine divided into two spaces:

- Open-plan zone for storage in boxes.
- Zone fitted with a support for storing hanging garments.

CHALLENGE: Spans of 8 metres were designed for mezzanine pillars to coincide with the building’s existing columns to achieve minimum interference in the operations.
A safety grating floor was installed to favour the passage of air and light, with a special grid to avoid objects potentially falling below onto personnel.
A safety swing gate was installed for depositing goods on the mezzanine floor while ensuring people’s protection at all times.
Mayoral managed to increase its storage surface by 2,525m2 without having to extend its installations. The building’s height was optimised by building the POLYPAL mezzanine above the production zone.
